Cross Country has two outstanding Athletes of the Week. They are Kinzie McClintick and Mikey Shafer. Both of them had outstanding races this week.
Kinzie McClintick was chosen as the girl Athlete of the Week for cross country because she always has a positive attitude and is always pushing her hardest and is never letting her guard down. At the last cross country meet McClintick placed seventh overall.
“Kinzie had an amazing time, and really pushed herself, and had a great race,” said coach Dawn Lucas.
As for boys, Mikey Shafer was the athlete of the week. Shafer raced in Sparks last week and placed fourth, out of fourteen boys.
“Which is absolutely amazing as a freshman to get,” said coach Lucas.
