On Friday night the JV boys football team took charge of their game against Sparks right off the bat with the defense forcing a fumbling and, as player Darrin Nelson said, “setting the tempo for the whole game.”
After last week’s game, many players felt that improvements needed to be made. However, after the game against Sparks Nelson felt that, “as a team, we’ve improved a lot.”
The score was 58-7. It was a great victory for the JV team, which gave them the exact boost in spirits that they’re going to need before next week’s game against Spring Creek.
“To prepare for the Spring Creek game we need to work on both our offense and defense,” said Nelson. “We definitely are going to need a lot of practice, considering Spring Creek is the best team in the league right now, they’re undefeated.”
JV plays the Spartans next week at Spring Creek at 4:30 p.m.
