On Saturday, September 5 the Lowry boy’s soccer team was looking to settle a score with Incline. However, they fell just short of their goal when the game ended leaving the score 2-0 in Incline’s favor.

“We could have done better, but we did pretty well,” said head coach Steve Swanson.

Lowry saw almost constant pressure from the Incline offense but the Bucks’ keeper Noel Garcia and defenders Jacob Gibson and Jesse Pate each gave spectacular performances that helped keep Incline’s score to a minimum.

Unfortunately, Gibson received an injury to the ankle only 15 minutes into the game that caused him to sit out for the rest of the match.

Despite the Bucks thwarting many of the Highlanders’ advances, Incline managed to score two goals in the first half.

Lowry had only a few chances to keep pace with the Incline offense including one penalty kick by Nestor Ruiz that was blocked by the Incline keeper. Alejandro Villagomez and Jose Acevedo also made advances towards Incline’s side of the field however neither attempt produced a goal for the Bucks.

Although the game ended in a loss for the Bucks, it was well played and thoroughly entertaining.

On a high note, Lowry Soccer achieved the two fastest times in pig wrestling the previous night on Friday, September 4.

Lowry boy’s soccer will face off against Truckee next on Friday, September 11.
