Coach Brent Riemersma chose Connor Peterson to be the JV baseball Student-Athlete of the Week. Peterson has been showing extreme improvement in and out of games, and his coaches have noticed it.

“Connor Peterson has been playing on another level,” said coach Riemersma. “He is our starting catcher and has continued to get better over the season.”

Not only has his improvement been making a difference to his coaches but also to his performance in a game.

“He has been throwing base runners out at 1st, 2nd and 3rd with authority,” said coach Riemersma. “Making plays at the plate to get guys out on throws from his teammates has been fun to watch.”

Peterson has had a passion for baseball since he was young and has continued to expand his abilities on the field.

“I’ve played pretty much my entire life with a goal to make the high school baseball team,” said Peterson.

The JV baseball team does a great job of ensuring their teammates can improve without interruptions, which allows Peterson to show the coaches what he’s made of.

“Everyone is always picking each other up and encouraging each other to get better,” said Peterson. “I enjoy playing with my teammates very much, we have a good group of kids who know a lot about baseball.”
