The freshmen team came out on fire against Lovelock getting out to a great start and a 10-point lead, but Lovelock came out in the second half ready to play and came to within three points by the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Bucks closed it out and won, 49-42.

At the half of the Lovelock game coach Grant Beatty said, “We’re not setting things up and we look like a different team than we looked in practice and I know we are a better team than that.”

The speech rallied the team and they came out playing faster and smarter and kept the lead to close it out for the win.

The game plan early was to set up the offense and get things going right off tip-off and then keep the lead throughout the game by running a flex offense and then playing good defense in a 2-3 zone. Another aspect of the game that went in the Buck’s favor was turnovers created from Lowry’s full-court press trap.

In the final game, Lowry dominated both sides of the ball in a 59-14 win over White Pine. After a quick start, the Bucks separated quickly and were able to easily sustain the run by playing great defense and getting inside the paint to score easy points.

Lowry’s next two games are at home against Truckee and Sparks.
