Freshman girls finish off the season against Elko

By Sydney Blankenship February 18, 2011

Lowry High School’s freshman girl’s basketball team may have lost to Elko, but went down swinging.

With the ladies missing some shots, that should have fallen, Elko were victorious over the Lady Bucks 38-22. “The team played pretty good, but we missed quite a bit of easy shots,” said freshmen girls coach Shaun Murgel.

The team played good as a whole and not just one person stood out among the rest.

“The team played great team basketball,” said Murgel.

Later that day, the Bucks played against Dayton for the fourth time this basketball season. The Dayton Dust Devils were victorious yet again against the freshmen girls team for the third time this season.

The girls again, played good defense, but no shots were falling.

The LHS freshman girl’s basketball team ended its season with a record of 5-16.
