The freshman volleyball team lost to Elko in their last home game of this season. They went on to play Sparks as their final game of the season and it resulted in a win. The team was hoping for a better record this season.

One of the players, Cruz Jimenez, spoke about how the team’s season went.

Jimenez said, “It was a tough season. We had many losses and only a few wins. Regardless of that, our team learned many things and we grew together. We learned from our mistakes and became better players.”

Jimenez thinks this season will help for next season.

“I think the next season will be better because we have all improved tremendously, but there is still more room to improve. We can better all of the things we learned this year and put them to better use,” she said.

Setter, Andrea Escobedo thinks the team did well over the course of the season.

She said, “I think we did really well on working as a team and talking to each other.”

She also said that one thing they could improve upon is “a little more excitement on the court but overall I’m proud of my team.”

Next season, Escobedo is looking forward to seeing what the team will improve upon and hopes to see more success.
