Girls varsity basketball played Churchill County at home on December 8 and traveled to Lovelock on December 10. Lowry’s first league game was against Fallon, one of the top teams in the league. The girls put up a tough fight but lost 65-31.

“Our game was alright. We played good defense. Our shots weren’t falling and we needed to work more as a team and run our plays,” said Kenadee Jeppsen.

Brooklyn Waller led the team with seven points while Payton Naveran chipped in six.

The Bucks are working hard on doing the little things such as closing out, boxing out, and running their plays until someone is open and not just forcing the shot or the pass.

Lowry’s second official game for the season was against Lovelock.

“I think the game went well. We as a team put in a much better effort than in previous games and as a result he came out with a win. Our good defense really got us going on offense. It was a much better team effort,” said Audrey Snow.

Working harder as a team was a huge improvement that the girls wanted to work on. They executed this on the defensive side of the game by closing out and having great help. Overall the game was much better and the girls got a big win 43-25.

The Lady Bucks returned to league action yesterday when they traveled to Fernley. Details were not available.
