Junior varsity baseball played Truckee at Truckee High School on May 5. The final score of the first game was 5-4 for Truckee. The second game ended 4-3 for Lowry.

Sophomore Luis Duarte was unable to make it to the games on Saturday, but he has lots of confidence in his team.

“I’m always excited about every game we play,” said Duarte. “We’re a really good team, so I’m confident that we’re gonna end the season on top.”

Freshman Tristen Schmittel said he has a few things he could work on.

“My Batting wasn’t as good as I expected, but my outfielding was good,” said Schmittel. “As a team, we did good. Everyone is always picking each other up and always there for one another.”

Sophomore Levi Christopherson is a member of the varsity baseball team, but filled in for JV on Saturday. Christopherson said he thinks JV is a good team overall.

“Our pitching was good, and our fielding was good,” said Christopherson. “We (the team) just needed to swing the bat more. We also had too many looking strikeouts.”
