Throughout this basketball season, the JV girls didn’t seem to struggle at all through training hard and great coaching. The Lady Bucks won every single league game this season. They also won every non-league game by defeating Division 1 schools and became the first girls Lowry basketball team to win the State Farm Classic against North Valleys in the championship. Not once did the team not believe in themselves and each other.
“We played really well, we worked hard as a team and we never doubted ourselves once,” said Alyssa Kuskie.
It was hard for this team to find competition this season beating almost every team by at least 20. All these games show that the JV girls are a force to be reckoned with and should not be taken lightly. Many of these girls including their head coach, Amy Jenkins, haven’t lost a league game since freshman year, and currently have 44 consecutive wins.
This past weekend the girls defeated Spring Creek, blowing them out of their own gym with a blowout game. Also their last game of the season, they beat Elko in a closer game by nine which really crushed Elko’s spirit at home but brought their spirits up with an undefeated season.
As the season has ended, they finished strong and hope to have another good season next year with some practice and get better over the off-season. This summer many players will return to the gym repeatedly to only get better and will participate in camps, only hoping to improve the impressive girl’s basketball program.
