Leadership heads to Reno for State

Lowry Leadership took 21 students to Reno High School on April 21 to attend workshops, and junior council (JC) sessions, and get the chance to listen to motivational speakers in order to become tomorrow’s leaders.

If you have been around Lowry, you have seen some of the superb posters hung around the school. Or maybe you have one of the sick locker decorations hung with care. But of course, Leadership isn’t just all poster making and games, there is actually a Regional and State conference held.

“We are expecting an amazing State Student Council Conference. Lowry is taking five JC leaders and four workshops and we have two candidates running for state offices next year, Amaya and Tiana Herrera,” said advisor Tanya Grady.

Not only are the advisors excited, but so are the students.

“Leadership state is the best thing ever, and it’s the one thing I look forward to every year. This will be my fourth year, and I’m going to be a JC leader with Nate Nelson which will be super fun. The theme this year is a dance, so we will be getting groovy this year,” said Student Body President Madison Mayo.
