Lowry advances to state tournament for fourth consecutive year

After defeating Dayton, Lowry has earned another crack at a state championship and a fourth straight trip to the state tournament.

Although the Buckaroos may have had some trouble offensively against the Dust Devils, Lowry shut down Dayton defensively throughout the whole game. Going into the half, Lowry was leading 20-13, with the scoring led by junior Jesse Studebaker and senior Jordan Rinas. Lowry played defense well enough to keep Dayton under 30 points and beat the Dust Devils 44-29.

Lowry will now move on to the state tournament with a semifinal game against Boulder City. The Boulder City Eagles are coming into this game with a league record of 3-1 and are looking to have a repeat of what they did to Lowry earlier in the season.

If the Buckaroos do make their way past Boulder City, they will move on to the state finals and play the winner of the Elko vs. Fernley semifinal game. Elko is looking strong coming into the state tournament, and if both Lowry and Elko find their way to the State Championship game, it will definitely be a high-intensity game with Lowry looking to finally get a win over Elko in what could be their third matchup this season.
