Some athletes are good enough at what they do to go on to college and continue their sports careers. This year Lowry has two going to college, Anthony Peterson and Kole Mattson. They are both starting varsity football players.

Anthony Peterson has committed to Eastern Oregon University. He has played varsity all four years of high school. He plays running back. He is also a state champion wrestler, winning state as a junior, but his senior season was canceled.
Peterson likes Eastern Oregon University because it made him feel at home. He wants to get out there and hopefully make it professional.

“I would like to go pro but I am far from it,” said Peterson. “I still have a lot of work to do.”

Peterson is excited about college because he will be able to set himself up for later in life with a good education, all while playing the sport he loves to play. He wants to work hard and reach his goals.

“Some goals I’ve set for myself are to work hard and stay true to myself,” said Peterson. “I want to make an impact up there.”

Kole Mattson is a lineman in the past he has been Athlete of the Issue. He is committed to The College of Idaho. As an offensive lineman, he has blocked for Peterson for years, he plays as a defensive lineman also. Kole was given a scholarship for football but he is also a talented wrestler.

Mattson is excited to go to college and play football. He wants to go work hard and get better.

“It’s going to be a great experience and I can’t wait,” said Mattson.

Kole wants to become a better athlete and he wants to get out on the field as much as he can.

“My main goal is to get the most playing time and improvement in my athletic ability,” said Mattson.
