Lowry girl’s varsity opposed the Spring Creek Spartans on Wednesday, January 27. Although Spring Creek was victorious, Lowry put up a stupendous fight, ending the game at 52-45 Spartans.

The Bucks held a 14-10 lead in the first quarter, but Spartans took the lead in the second quarter leaving the score at 27-18 Spartans.

“I thought we did ok the first quarter,” said Lowry’s Darrian Black, “But after the second quarter, and second half, we kind of played as individuals. We just have to work on that.”

Ashlee Lee made a three-point shot at the end of the third quarter. In the end, the Spartans kept a lead leaving the third quarter 46-32.

“I think we need to work on playing more as a team throughout the entire game,” said Lowry’s Skylar Estes, “not just at the beginning. We’ve got to do it in practice. Learn to play as a team in practice and be a team there before we can be a team on the court.”

Although it was not the winning basket, Estes shot the ball with .3 seconds left in the fourth quarter, from half-court, and made it.

“That was pretty exciting,” said Estes, “It was my first three-point shot of my entire high school career, and it wasn’t even a three-point shot; it was a half-court shot; so I mean that was pretty exciting.”

Lowry Girls Varsity will play Truckee at Truckee on Friday, January 28.
