On January 9, Lowry High School’s National Honor Society (NHS) held its annual induction ceremony, welcoming a new group of students recognized for their excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The event celebrated their hard work and dedication, marking the beginning of their journey as part of one of the school’s most respected organizations.
The new inductees joined returning NHS members in a formal ceremony, where they pledged to uphold the society’s values and continue serving their school and community. This year’s inductees have demonstrated strong academic achievements, involvement in extracurricular activities, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
“I really enjoy being in [National] Honor Society since it’s a good way to find opportunities to help others,” said Ava Swensen.
Returning members also played a key role in the ceremony, welcoming the new inductees and sharing their experiences within the organization.
‘I’m so glad we have more students to share this honor with,” said Adelyn Quirarte.
As the newest members settle into their roles, they will have the chance to participate in various service projects and events aimed at bettering both the school and the community. With a strong foundation of leadership and commitment, this year’s NHS chapter is set to continue the tradition of excellence at Lowry High.
“It’s nice having a bigger group of students in NHS, and so far these students have been really driven to help out and get things done,” said NHS Advisor Ms. Alexis Mattson.
