Lowry High School Winterfest week starts January 29. The theme this year is 50s, which was inspired by Lowry’s 50th Anniversary. Winterfest week is going to be full of many activities.
Starting Monday the dress-up day will be Pink Ladies vs T-Birds Day, with a Lunch Time Activity sponsored by Leadership. Tuesday the dress-up day is Jocks vs High Socks Day, with a dodgeball tournament at 6:30 p.m. sponsored by the sophomores. Wednesday the dress-up day will be 50s icon, with a date auction sponsored by National Honor Society.
On Thursday, February 1 the dress-up day will be Vintage Tourist Day, with a talent show at 6:30 p.m. sponsored by Drama. On Friday the dress-up day will be a 50th Celebration/ Blue and Gold Day, there will be an assembly at 8:10-9:00 a.m., and royalty will be crowned during the assembly. There will be a basketball game vs Fernley at home. The times are 3, 4:30, 6 and 7:30 p.m. At halftime, the royalty ceremony and Honorary Buckaroo will take place during boys varsity halftime.
On the final day of Winterfest, there will be a basketball game vs Churchill at home the times are 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 pm. The Winterfest dance is from 8-11 p.m. and is sponsored by the seniors.
