The Early Childhood Education class taught by Mrs. Courtney Rorex has begun the annual preschool. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, the preschoolers have lessons taught to them from 8-10:35 a.m. Each preschooler is assigned to a ‘big’ kid who will help them throughout each lesson plan.
“We have been using this whole semester to prepare ourselves for preschool. It is something I think all of the kids look forward to at the end of the school year. When we don’t have preschool on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, we plan the lessons for the next week,” said Rorex.
This week was the first week of school for them, and they have done a couple of opening lessons.

“We have done lessons on ‘it’s okay to be different’, and we have gone over numbers with them. The first couple of days are always a little rocky because the kids are still warming up to us,” said Rorex.
The preschoolers seem to be enjoying every part of it as they all have something they are excited to talk about.
“My favorite part is all of it, my favorite big kid is Myra,” said Valeria Sillas.
“My favorite part of preschool is lunch,” said Jimmer Backus.
“My favorite part is running around and popping bubbles. My favorite number is eight,” said Bryce Santos.
The preschool is not only educational for the little kids, but for the ‘big’ kids as well.
“I think this preschool is helpful. It teaches us to be patient with kids and will prepare us for the future,” said McKenna Jones.
Many other ‘big’ kids agree.
“This preschool is not only a learning experience for the kids but for us as well. The kids are so much fun to be around, and they keep us on our toes. They will always find a way to make us laugh,” said Trista Furr.
The preschool will continue every Tuesday and Wednesday until the end of the school year.
