Last week, Lowry’s track and field team traveled to Yerington in order to qualify for state competition. This year, ten Lowry athletes will be going to Las Vegas in order to win state titles in their events.

The track and field team has done well all season and continued to do well in Yerington. Before the Yerington meet, freshman Nicholas Maddox had some words about the team coming into the track meet.

“The team has been doing great all season so I think we will once again do good,” said distance runner Maddox previous to the meet.

This year the athletes going to state are sophomores Monique Rodriquez and Auriana Criddle, juniors Taylor LaTray, Sergio Casteneda, Robert Stepper, and Rachel Sigurdson, and seniors Cody Andersen, Cody Martin, Raven Black, and Alex Schirrick.
