On Friday, January 9, Lowry’s varsity boys basketball team beat Truckee at home 69-40. Senior, Nathan Lutzow had 25 points and a total of nine rebounds.

Lowry scored 17 points in the first quarter while shutting Truckee out. Lowry did not relinquish the lead throughout the game.

Junior Jed Teichert, who had three rebounds and three assists, said that the main things the team has to work on are their defensive play and simply being consistent in everything that they do.

“It went pretty well. The team played well and we stuck to our game plan. Our coach wanted us to press the ball and run the court and we did a very good job of that,” Teichert said about how the game went as a whole.

Senior, Brian Shettler agreed with Teichert.

“We played very well and executed things that our coach really wanted us to work on. We did a good job of forcing people to their left hand and offensively we pushed the ball very well,” Shettler said about how the team played on Friday.

He also believes that the team could work on its pushing and using athleticism a little more.

The varsity boys team plays again at home against a 1-4 Spring Creek team on Tuesday, January 12.
