Lowry Volleyball proves to be a bad neighbor in State Farm Tournament

The Lowry Buckaroos volleyball team hosted the annual State Farm Tournament from August 31- September 1, and they didn’t do as well as they hoped. The Bucks played their hearts out, and managed to get one win in the record book, but couldn’t get past the tough competition as they lost every other match.

“We did pretty good, we played really well at some points, but then we would lose focus at times, but all-in-all we did okay,” said junior Ere Higbee.

The Bucks played five games in the tournament and finished 1-4. The Lady Bucks are looking for improvements in their upcoming games.

“We need to improve our talking, we have good chemistry off the court, but on the court, we have room for improvement,” said Higbee.

The Bucks have a lot of new players on this team, as they lost the majority of their players from last year’s team to graduation. However, the Lady Bucks have four returning players that look to provide experience to this new team.

The Bucks go on the road this weekend as they travel to Dayton and Fernley and hope to see an improvement in their chemistry and their overall record.

This year’s Volleyball roster includes: Cortni Welch, Paige Thiede, Ere Higbee, Allison Barron, Charlotte Bernard, Stephanie Sappington, Shelby McKinnon, Jessica Jensen, Juliana Velasco, Kylee McClellan, Sam LaTray, Rachel Sigurdson, and manager is Khyra Cooley.
