The Buckaroos defeated the formerly 4A Wooster Colts with a score of 47-21 on Friday, September 3, 2010.

Fifteen seconds after kickoff, Lowry established a lead when junior running back Jace Billingsley immediately scored a touchdown. The Bucks did not keep up the offensive intensity but played solid defense for the rest of the first quarter, leaving the score at 7-0 in Lowry’s favor.

To open up the second quarter, Billingsley scored a 51-yard touchdown. Along with the extra point by junior kicker Ryan Nelson, Lowry’s score was increased to 14 while the Colts had yet to score.

Junior running back Gus Duncan added another score for the Buckaroos. His 58-yard touchdown down the left sideline increased the score to 21-0.

Sophomore Michael Billingsley filled the quarterback position in the second quarter and the Buckaroos scored three more touchdowns, Lowry now had a dominating score of 41-0 over Wooster at the half.

“We played well the first half, obviously it was really good. 41-0 at half and we can’t ask for more than that,” said assistant coach Ron Beck.

In the second half, Lowry scored one touchdown and the Wooster Colts were finally able to score touchdowns against the Buckaroos stingy defense.

“In the second half we kind of let up and coasted through when really we should have upped the tempo,” said junior kicker Bryan Noble.

The Buckaroos walked off of the field with a win score of 47-21.

Lowry will be back in action on Friday September 10, 2010 at South Tahoe.

The team has a lot of tough games coming up, we are going to put in some extra time and go over all of our plays. With that we should hopefully be ready for those big games, said Noble.
