Lowry Winterfest 2008 was a huge success this year.

It started on Monday with a fantastic win by our boy’s Varsity Basketball team.

We walked into school on Tuesday witnessing beautiful hallway decorations that of which the sophomore’s won with their amazing country-themed decorations. Everyone was sporting their Disco/Hippy attire and we all looked fabulous. Bingo Night was hosted in the Cafeteria at 6:30 PM that night which was a huge success. Courtney Harrington took the big win clinching the 8GB video iPod Nano, and Missy McKinnon winning the beautiful jewelry donated by Rice Jewelers. A big thank you goes out from Lowry Leadership to all of the businesses who donated to our Winterfest Bingo Night.

On Wednesday we all came to school dressed as our favorite rock stars. The lunchtime activity (Singing Bee) was won by the freshmen. The boy’s Basketball teams traveled to Sparks that night and was defeated By the Sparks Railroaders. After school Lowry hosted Wrestling Duals beating Dayton and Yerington and being defeated by Spring Creek. It was a Jam in the Gym to see which class had the most spectators. The mighty seniors clenched the win in this class competition.

Thursday, everyone came to school dressed in their school colors to represent their school for Blue and Gold Day. It was the day of our Pep Assembly which involved the incredible performances of the Dance Team and Cheerleaders and many class and royalty competitions. Our Honorary Buckaroo, Sal Romero, was given a plaque and was greatly appreciated by the student body. The lunchtime activity (Name that Tune) following the assembly was won By the sophomores. Game Night was hosted in the Old Gym at 6:30 that night where a series of class competitions were conducted including playing Guitar Hero, DDR, and numerous amounts of other games.

Friday morning everyone was dressed in their west for the Wild Wild West! There was a lunchtime activity (CD Toss) was held in the Old gym where the Seniors and Sophomores tied for first place. The Wrestling made their way to Sparks for a tournament that afternoon. Lowry hosted the girl’s basketball games against Sparks and the Varsity girls picked up a smashing win!

Saturday was full of extreme fun! The boy’s basketball team traveled to Fernley and put up a great fight against the Vaqueros but were defeated. The girl’s basketball team hosted the games against Fernley and accomplished a fantastic win. The Winterfest Dance, sponsored

By the senior class, was held in the New Gym from 8:30-11:30 p.m. It was an extremely fun evening of music and dancing. Winterfest was huge success thanks to all the students who participated. Lowry Leadership hopes that you all enjoyed Winterfest 2008.
