On December 5, Lowry went and wrestled at a big tournament. It was a two-day event, and the competition was tough.

“I think the team had the right mentality going into a big, hard tournament like this one,” said Taylor Corak.

The Lowry wrestling team has worked hard throughout the season and is showing constant improvement at their matches. Even though they are seen as underdogs, they are raising heads, and many people are starting to look at our team as a threat.

“We battled hard, scrapped for every point, and took every win we could get,” said Corak. “I think we raised a couple of heads from the other teams in our division with how well we did.”

The Lowry team is preparing itself mentally for state that is sneaking up on them very fast. The wrestlers will be preparing for those matches for the rest of the season.

“The coaches are just trying to put us in the right mindset and prepare us for state.,” said Corak. “We are all in shape, very conditioned, and know all the moves we need. It’s just up to us to put in the work.”

Lowry ended 22nd in the Rollie Laine and 7th in the second-chance tournament.
