Lowry’s 4th annual talent show took place on Thursday, February 1 during Winterfest week.
At the event, just over a dozen students displayed their talents such as singing, drumming, and playing the ukulele.
After viewing all of the acts, it took the judges quite a while to decide who deserved a trophy.
Makayla Leveille took first place, followed by Micah Avalos and Ophelie Tomlinson, and Coreon Stokes took the prize for third.
Leveille shocked everyone with her performance, it was the first time she had ever sung in front of that many people.
“It was so much fun and definitely something I will never forget. It was my first time signing in front of a big group of people and my first time singing with a microphone,” said Leveille.
Makayla hadn’t been playing her ukulele long, and not a lot of people were aware of the talent she had.
“I started learning how to play in November when one day I decided I would try looking up some tutorials on YouTube. As far as singing goes, I just sang along with my ukulele for my family and they like it, so I kept with it,” said Levellie.
