Sophomore Makenzie Bishop was chosen as the Science Student of the Week by Biology teacher, Jessica Lindsay, for her hard work and attitude.

“I chose Maki because her performance in Biology class speaks for itself,” said Ms. Lindsey. “She is an active listener and has naturally excelled in both science classes I have had the privilege to teach her. Maki always brings a positive attitude to class and the occasional laugh, which I really appreciate as well.”

Bishop expresses her gratitude for her new accomplishment.

“I’m very excited and thankful because out of all the students she chose me,” said Bishop.

Bishop best enjoys the class’s atmosphere and contents.

“My favorite thing is how much of an open environment it [the biology class] is and how everyone can be themselves,” said Bishop. “I just like all the things that go with it, like the cells and how they work and everything.”

Bishop also enjoys taking part in the science labs.

“My favorite memory is just the labs we do because they’re never boring,” said Bishop.

Bishop hopes to deepen her knowledge throughout the school year.

“I hope I can be more familiar with just the study of biology and everything with it,” said Bishop.
