Music Review: ‘Pure Heroin’

If you have listened to the radio lately, you may have heard the song “Royals”, by a New Zealander who goes by the name of Lorde. This song won a Grammy, on January 26, so you can assume that along with many others, you will like this song.

The song is about everything that you hear in music. “But every song’s like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin’ in the bathroom blood stains, ball gowns, trashin’ the hotel room.” The hook of the song pretty much explains everything about the music that people listen to these days.
“Royals” went to the top of the charts and even passed Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”. At only 16 years old, Lorde has accomplished a lot with her album “Pure Heroine” that includes many other hits, besides “Royals”, including: “Tennis Court”, “Team”, “Court” and “Buzz Cut Season”.

Lorde is one of the musicians who will no doubt change this world. Her songs are not only catchy, but they are very well written. If you actually pay attention to the lyrics, you can tell that she puts a lot of effort into her work. All of her songs are her opinions and her knowledge on other topics.

Her songs are simple, yet they can be the most complicated thing to think about.
