This volleyball season was filled with lots of memorable moments as well as a learning experience for the players. According to the freshman coach, Tawnya Root she enjoyed every part of coaching these girls and being there to help guide them along the way.

“I have coached at the high school level for many years in Reno so this was not my first experience coaching high school,” said Root. “However coaching at Lowry and witnessing the school spirit that Lowry students have made the coaching experience so much fun. The support system of the families and students of Lowry is like no other and it was an honor to be a part of the volleyball program and Lowry High School athletics.”

However, losing to Fallon is never fun but beating your other arch-rivals is always a memorable occasion.

“My best memory of the whole season was winning our last two games against Spring Creek and Elko,” said Ashley Paniagua.

The team gained some wins and faced some losses but they always kept their hard-working attitudes and continued through the season. According to one of the athletes, Elizabeth Ochoa, even though there were some hardships throughout the season the team always managed to power through them.

“There were a lot of ups and downs that we had to overcome which ended in a great season,” said Ochoa.
