This week Shaelyn Forney was chosen as Performer of the Week by Mrs.Topholm.
Shaelyn is a junior and is in Art I this year. Forney drew James Dean for her comic drawing, which was the drawing that earned her Performer of the Week.
“She has a lot of natural ability and quiet power. Shaelyn is a very quiet person, but I’ve seen a lot of expression in her artwork,” said Tophlom.
“Especially in the last project that we did with our comic portrait, you could feel the emotion coming out of the page,” added Tophlom.
Shaelyn said that her favorite thing about art is having Mrs.Tophlom as a teacher because she makes everything fun. This is Forney’s first year of art, other than basic drawing her freshman year. She likes to doodle in her free time and she is good at what she does.
