Evan Jeppsen was chosen by director Corrine James as Performer of the Year. During his high school career, Evan has been a member of football, basketball, swim and for two years now, a member of Drama.

Director James stated that Jeppsen is someone she can always count on and he has even mastered the music booth.

“He is always smiling and always helpful,” said James. “Evan is absolutely amazing.”

James also mentioned that Jeppsen contributes to the group in such a positive way and his skills as an actor are exceptional.

“His acting is excellent and his timing is perfect,” said James. “He is subtle and funny. I will never forget his role as Stuart in the Christmas program and ‘Awkward Birthday Party’.”

In addition to Drama, Jeppsen is a member of the swim team. This year in particular, Coach Shelby Ruff stated that Jeppsen has greatly improved.

“Evan has really focused on increasing his level of conditioning,” said Ruff. “He has worked harder and more consistently at practice than last year and it shows in his times. He has become a valuable member of the relay teams and will be missed next year.”

Jeppsen is also notorious for his gummy bear print speedo and being the designated DJ on road trips.

Jeppsen stated that his favorite aspect of the class is the family-like feel to it. Drama taught him to “learn to love everyone, no matter what their situation is.”

Jeppsen believes he will carry these ‘dramatic’ memories with him for a long time, one of the most important to him being the play, “A Fiddler on the Roof” at the beginning of his senior year.

“We got to all learn about the Jewish culture and how they were affected in Russia in the 1900’s,” said Jeppsen. “Everyone became great friends after, and I learned to appreciate musicals in a whole new way.”
