President Obama presents energy solution

In the last few years, your gas tank has seemed to be a ball and chain in every day’s economy. America has been in this energy crisis position before and there seems to be no quick fix. However, in a press release, President Barrack issued a plan to solve energy problems and he has a solution to significantly cut importing oil. He said that his goal is to cut oil imports by one-third by 2035 and increase biofuel production and natural energy. The plan outlines three main areas:

  • Increase domestic energy production. “We can’t just drill our way out of the crisis so we need to increase fuel efficiency and increase our production of natural gas and biofuels,” said President Obama
  • Reduce demand for oil. Making investments in electric vehicles and the advanced batteries that power them is crucial in oil reduction. Transportation is responsible for 70 percent of our petroleum consumption; making transportation more efficient would cut importing phenomenally.
  • Increase production of clean energy.

“In his State of the Union address, President Obama set a goal that by 2035, 80 percent of our electricity should come from clean energy sources including renewables like wind and solar, nuclear energy, efficient natural gas, and clean coal,” said David Plouffe.

“The concepts are straightforward, but the execution will be challenging. In every solution, it all works out in the long run and it seems we will have to practice energy solutions with the upcoming generations,” said the senior presidential advisor, Plouffe.
