Press Release: Dr. Alamo reappointed to Gaming Commission

On Friday, April 27, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval announced that Dr. Tony Alamo would be reappointed to the Gaming Commission. His new term will end on April 27, 2016.

According to the release dated April 27, 2012, Governor Sandoval said, “I am very happy that Dr. Alamo has agreed to continue to serve our state on the Gaming Commission. Dr. Alamo has helped lead the Commission as they worked to create and enact regulations for intrastate internet gaming in anticipation of Federal allowance interstate internet gaming. His knowledge, thought process and experience will be extremely valuable as we continue work to maintain Nevada as the gold standard in gaming regulation.”

The release said Dr. Alamo is a practicing physician in Southern Nevada and an Organizer/Director of a community bank, Bank of George, FDIC chartered in 2007. He has worked as a safety and health advocate beginning with his role of ring physician, Medical Advisory Board Chairman and later as a regulator on the Nevada Gaming Commission. Dr. Alamo has served on the Commission since May 2008. He finished as Chairman in 2007.
