The final installment of the “Dark Knight” trilogy came out as the biggest blockbuster of 2012.

“The Dark Knight Rises”, directed by Christopher Nolan came out this summer to finalize Nolan’s Batman trilogy. It showed how Batman (Christian Bale) rose again in Gotham City after having the police chase after him for a crime he didn’t commit, having presumably killed Harvey “Two-Face” Dent, the DA who turned into a criminal, and other victims, who were killed by Dent. A new super-villain, Bane (Tom Hardy), threatens to destroy Gotham, But with help from Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine), Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), and Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), Batman stops Bane and brings peace to Gotham.

“Dark Knight” would not be what it is without Anne Hathaway. She was named the best actress in the film by many, including President Barack Obama.

Christian Bale, the star of the film, acted well and is praised as one of the best Batmen in history, following Michael Keaton and Adam West.

Overall, “The Dark Knight Rises” was the best film of 2012. You can rent or buy it on DVD and Blu-Ray.
