Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor made some not-so-great headlines on April 2, 2018.

After UFC 223 media day, footage went viral of McGregor throwing a dolly at the window of a bus that had other UFC fighters on board. The dolly broke through the window and injured lightweight contender Michael Chiesa, he was sent to the hospital due to several lacerations. Several news sources reported that McGregor’s reason behind the incident is not clear, but his teammate Artem Lobov was involved in an altercation with UFC 223 headliner Khabib Nurmagomedov. According to mmafighting.com UFC President Dana White called the incident “The most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.”

According to the Washington Post, McGregor turned himself in to the police two days after the incident. He was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief. He was released on $50,000 bail and has a court date set on June 14. Three matches scheduled for UFC 223 had to be canceled because of the incident. McGregor was also stripped of his lightweight belt after the incident.
Whether McGregor will fight in the UFC again is uncertain, but according to the Washington Post, he has been in contact with Dana White and attempted to justify his actions.
