Sadly this year, Lowry will be losing six very special teachers. Among the four are, Mr. John Aberasturi, Mr. Jacob Evans, Ms. Amie Godinez, Mrs. Michelle Pasquale, Mrs. Lynette Whalen, and Ms. Michele Hammersmark. These teachers have made a special impact at Lowry and will be missed deeply.
Godinez will always remember the trips she got to take with her students to foreign countries.
“My trips abroad to foreign countries [are unforgettable],” said Godinez.
Aberasturi will miss all of the great memories he has made during his time at Lowry.
“I will miss the students who have a real desire and drive to learn Automotive Mechanics. I will also miss my co-workers, the Administrative staff, and the secretaries and bookkeeper,” said Aberasturi. “My plans are to move to my cabin at Wild Horse, NV. where I will enjoy hunting, fishing, RZR riding, and motorcycle riding in the area. I would like to travel around the United States in my RV. My favorite memory is taking the qualifying Lowry Automotive Technology students to the Ford/AAA National Finals in Washington, DC.”
Elias Arechiga will miss how enjoyable Aberasturi’s automotive class was.
“I will miss how Mr. Aberasturi taught his class. He taught in a way that I could understand,” said Elias Arechiga. “I really enjoyed his class.”
Godinez has always been very committed to teaching to the best ability, and her students respect that.
“I will miss the way Mrs. Godinez is very engaged in her classes, and how she cares about each and every student,” said Dylan Perkins.
Chance Huitt will miss being pushed to get better at writing.
“I will miss how committed Mr. Evans was to us, and how he always pushed us to become better writers,” said Huitt.
Tatyana Munoz will miss how her class would be fun, but everyone would still complete their work.
“I will miss how Mrs. Pasquale would make her classes fun, but still able to get work done,” said Munoz.
Andrew Cisneros will miss how much work was completed in Hammersmark’s class.
“I will miss how strict she was because I actually got work done,” said Cisneros.
While only being here for two years, Evans has made a ton of memories that he will take with him back to Montana.
“There are too many memories to just choose one. The kids and staff here are amazing. Working with you all in the classroom and on the basketball court has been unforgettable,” said Evans. “One of my favorite memories is beating Elko in 2018 to go undefeated. Also, our game against Fallon in 2019 where Drew Harmon banked in a three-pointer for the win in the last minute. There are so many funny memories in the classroom. Including Chance [Huitt] pulling out a chicken nugget from a pink sweater vest in the middle of class.”
