Several SkillsUSA members recently competed at regionals in welding.

AJ Mendoza believes that this helps him achieve greater success.

“I do the welding and I’m gonna do that when I graduate, it’s pretty fun,” said Mendoza.

Cooper Hill also believes that this will help him in the future with his career.

“I like electrical, I think this will be beneficial in the long run,” said Hill

Mr. Andrew Meyer, the advisor for SkillsUSA, believes that this organization is a good fit for many kids and they should join.

“All the cool kids are doing it,” said Meyer. “The talented individuals are in a competition around the trade industry, anything you can think of that is in that industry is exercised in this organization.”

Dempsey Jenkins, a welding student who recently received his certification also believes that this is a good organization even if he is not a part of it.

“It was pretty cool getting my certification, even though I am not in Skills USA it’s a pretty cool group,” said Jenkins.

SkillsUSA is a United States career and technical student organization that has more than 395,000 high school members enrolled in training programs in trade occupations.
