The track season started the off-season with their opening meet at Spring Creek. As the day went on many track coaches noticed two athletes that were working a little harder than the others. The boy was Erick Lopez and the girl was Hailey Fernandez.
“We chose these two because they both had a great day at the meet,” said coach Shaun Murgel.
“I think I did pretty good considering it was my first high school track meet. I still have a lot to improve on though,” said Fernandez.
The team is looking forward to their season and is hoping to duplicate last year and do better.
Track’s next tournament will be on Saturday, March 19 in Elko.
