On April 13, Lowry’s swim team headed to Alf Sorensen Pool in Sparks.
Lowry was supposed to be competing against Truckee, but they were on spring break, so they swapped meets with them.
According to coach Shelby Ruff, this last meet was an interesting one because for Lowry, it was really just a time travel.
“We had some people in events that they might not normally do,” said Ruff. “We had some people swimming new strokes for the first time. Junior Melissa Ramirez did the breaststroke for the first time. We also put junior Evan Jeppsen in the 200 IM.”

The 200 free relay, whose members are Hunter Lewis, Nathan Perkinson, Tristen Mille,r and Evan Jeppsen, finished with a time of 1:54.
“It was a little bit of a hard meet time-wise,” said Ruff. “We didn’t swim super fast but I think we had a chance to develop on some things that we don’t normally focus on, but it was fun.”
Lowry’s swim team will be heading to Reno on April 21 for their next meet.
