The JV girls’ basketball season was one built and progressed without the season, with a record of 5-8.
Mariah Ramos had a new beginning this season as she played with new teammates and a new coach.
“My favorite memory from this year was being able to experience new teammates and a new coach because I’ve never played anything with anyone besides the girls I had before,” said Ramos. “It was fun and nice to actually get to know my new friends.”
Memories build a team, and for the JV girls, it brought them to become a family.
The girls were brought together and loved to play jokes with their coach, and had a bonding experience.
Coach Hailey Card loved the girls for their silliness and dedication towards the sport.
“A favorite memory from this season is all the pranks the girls pulled on me like escaping the gym and finding old photos of me on social media, printing them off, and asking for my autograph,” said Card. “The girls always knew how to have fun and make me laugh.”
Although, even pulled pranks on each other, the JV girls pulled together and learned valuable things throughout the season.
“Every game was a learning experience, and we got better because of it,” said Card.
The girls loved Coach Card for her heart. Card taught the girls to be patient, keep a smile on their faces, and most importantly, have fun.
“This season taught me to be patient and that basketball is serious, but it can be fun, too. So, I learned to have fun with my team instead of being so serious,” said Ramos. “I loved our team.”
What Josie Jenkins took to heart most from this season was keeping her attitude in check.
“The lesson I learned from this season is that attitude is a huge factor in the game; you won’t play as much or play the way you want to play if your attitude isn’t in check,” said Jenkins.
