Varsity boys’ basketball falls just short of regionals

The boy’s basketball team had what some would call a growing year this past season. They had a young team, so they had some rough losses, but overall, their growth from the beginning of the season to the end was phenomenal. Despite the improvement, their losses at the beginning of the season hurt their hopes of playing in Regionals. Their season ended earlier than they’d hoped with a 6-10 league record.

“It was not the best season that Lowry’s ever had, but it was good to have us play together,” said sophomore Brendan Domire.

As previously mentioned, it was a growing year for the boys. With nine returning players next year, their next season is expected to be better.

“I think that we are going to be a lot better next year and in future seasons because we know what we need to do to be successful in the league,” said Domire.

The seniors on the team played a big part in helping the team grow. They were the leaders of the team on and off the court. Senior Jed Teichert was one of those seniors. He has been part of the program for four years and is leaving his legacy on the program. He hopes to see big things from his teammates.

“It has been a super exciting experience to play for the program we have here. It’s not like other teams around the state. Players who have played for Lowry before still come and support and care about the program now. I’m excited for the team next year and think they will do very good. They were young this year, so as the team matures and gains more experience, they will get better and better,” said Teichert.
