On Friday, October 6, the varsity boys’ soccer team lost at home against North Tahoe, 6-0. The boys played at a disadvantage because they had five players out due to injuries and a red card.
“The game was a hard one. We played against the best soccer team in our division,” said sophomore Anthony Cuevas. “Our team still needs some improvement on certain things.”
“North Tahoe is the best team in the league, and there was no way we could defeat them, but at least we worked hard enough to show our coach we are still in it for the playoffs,” said senior Adrian Mendoza. “We just need to improve on keeping possession of the ball with quick passes and moving into space.”
The boys had a few shots on goal, but unfortunately, they couldn’t get through Tahoe’s great goalkeeper.
“With that kind of loss, we still left the field with our heads held high,” said Mendoza.
The varsity soccer team has a home conference game vs Churchill County on October 11.
