The varsity girl’s basketball team has proved to be one of the most dominant teams in the North. Their only losses this season have been to Fallon and Reed High School.
The girls faced off against Fallon, who is arguably the toughest team in the 3A. They faced off on Friday for Winterfest, hoping to get revenge for their loss to the Greenwave in Fallon earlier in the season.
The game came down to the final minutes, but in the end, Lowry couldn’t pull off the win as Fallon outscored the Bucks 16-11 in the fourth quarter to win 44-40.
Junior Alyssa Kuskie discussed what the team’s plan was going into the game against the Greenwave.
“Our plan was to go out and do what we do, play hard on ball defense and just run our offenses,” said Kuskie.
Reflecting on what happened with the loss, Kuskie said that the game just didn’t go in favor of the Bucks.
“We ran our defense really well and our offense really well, just some things weren’t in our favor, but we played our best,” said Kuskie.
The girls will face off against Spring Creek at home next Tuesday, February 2, at 6 p.m. at home.
