On Friday, March 23, Lowry’s varsity softball team had three games against Spring Creek at home. One game on Friday and two on Saturday. They were able to win all three of their games.

Sophomore Sierra Maestrejuan believes they did well.

“This weekend was definitely a fun time playing softball. We went out and won all three games. We did very well on defense and had big bats on offense,” said Maestrejuan. “We had a 5-pitch inning, which was pretty exciting. We had a double play and some diving catches in the outfield.”

Lowry defeated Spring Creek pretty easily in the first two games, but game three was a closer game, and it took the Lady Bucks longer to get ahead.

In the final game of the series, Sylvie Prokasky pitched the first four innings, picking up the win for the Bucks. She gave up one run on three hits and struck out one. Maestrejuan pitched the final ending in relief.

Senior outfielder Bailey Sapien had two hits for Lowry in game three.

Senior Alyssa Kuskie thinks their game went well.

“We played really well overall. It took us a while to get our bats going, but we improved every game,” said Kuskie.

The next game for the Lady Bucks is on March 30.
