Each year, Lowry softball gets closer to winning the state title. The girls were short in the 2023-2024 season, finishing fourth in the Northern 3A.

However, the girls have made their mark this season, hoping to end at the top. The 2024-2025 season has been a cruise for the girls, with a league record of 14-1 and an overall record of 26-8. The season ended in a regional loss against Fernley, knocking the girls off the state ticket. Although they lost their chance at state, the girls ended first in the Northern 3A.

Senior Liliana Aguilar has enjoyed playing softball since she was little.

“I’ll miss playing with these girls since I’ve played with them since I was seven,” said Aguilar.

Senior Crisslyn Rodriguez is grateful for the experiences she went through with her teammates over her four years playing Lowry softball.

“My teammates were hardworking and always pushed each other to improve, which made playing fun and competitive,” said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is also grateful for the coaching staff.

“Our coaches did an amazing job leading us and helping us grow to learn new things,” said Rodriguez. “My favorite memory would be the transit rides with Peters and Maga, they were definitely something I enjoyed and were always fun, especially the roundabouts.”

Coach Megan Maga thinks the girls had a good season overall.

“Overall, I think we had a very impressive season and there’s no reason for the team to hang their heads,” said Maga.

Maga is proud of how far the girls have come, and she can’t wait to see what the future holds for the softball program.

“I’m so proud of all 13 girls on our team because it took every one of them to get to the regional tournament,” said Maga. “I’m fortunate for our three seniors who helped create the foundation that we can continue to build upon, and I’m looking forward to the years we have ahead with the rest of the squad.”

Seniors: Crisslyn Rodriguez, Liliana Aguilar, and Dana Micone.
