Victor Barajas was recently named the varsity soccer Student-Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance, hard work, and cooperation in varsity soccer by coach Cristina Cuevas.
“Victor is very hard-working and disciplined,” said Cuevas.
Barajas advises first-year and upcoming soccer players not to let a bad game control their whole outlook on their progress. He learned from experience how easy it is to fall into that mindset and wants to help others avoid it.
“Don’t let one game dictate your whole season,” said Barajas. “I’ve been there, and had that mentality because that’s what I did last year.”
Barajas is optimistic about the future and hopes to keep the team spirit alive.
“I’m glad how this season is going and we can continue the work with the team,” said Barajas. “I hope we can keep the momentum throughout the season.”
