What to Watch in sports

October 26, 2010, the NBA season starts off with the first three games of the actual season, the Miami Heat will tip off with the Boston Celtics. In the second game of the season the Phoenix Suns vs. the Portland Trail Blazers and in the third game, the Houston Rockets will face off with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Before the Miami Heat got on the flight for their first game in Boston, Dwyane Wade had a conversation with a friend he calls Larry (As in, Larry O’ Brien Trophy, the one they give out for winning an NBA championship.) The Miami Heat at Boston suffered their first loss of the season to the Boston Celtics. The final result in the game was 88-80. In Portland, Oregon, the Phoenix Suns were handed a loss in their opening game against the Trail Blazers with a final score of 106-92.

In the second game of the NBA season, the Houston Rockets faced off with the Los Angeles Lakers. Houston was ahead for three quarters of the game, and in the fourth quarter of the game Los Angeles had a comeback and picked up their first victory with a final score of 112-110. The game was close and tough, but Houston could not pick up a win for their first game of the season.

Miami Heat’s second away game on Wednesday 10/27/10, in Philadelphia was the Heat’s first victory of the season against the Philadelphia 76ers. The game had a resulting score of 97-87.

Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets throttle the Utah Jazz in their season opener getting their first win of the season against Utah in Denver, Colorado. The Denver Nuggets have their first win in their hometown and Utah with their first loss of the season.

Boston had their second game in Cleveland against the Cavaliers; the Boston Celtics fell to Cleveland receiving their first loss of the season. Boston and Cleveland would come to a scoring conclusion of 95-87, Cleveland’s first win of the NBA season.
