The World Series is an annual event for the baseball world. Throughout the season every baseball fan wants their favorite team to go to the World Series. This year the lucky fans of the Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants get to watch their team battle to win the legendary trophy.

Experts had no clue that these two teams would make it to the World Series. According to Sports Illustrated, experts 14 percent had picked the Royals to win the American League wild-card game, and 33 percent had picked the Giants to win the National League wild-card game.

The last time Kansas City won the World Series was in 1985 against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Royals have won the World Series only once, but have gone three times including this year. The last time the San Francisco went was in 2012 against the Detroit Tigers. The Giants have won only seven times, and have gone 20 times.

This year The Kansas City Royals received home-field advantage because of the American League’s 5-3 victory in the All-Star game. The first game started on October 21, 2014, the score was 7-1 with a win for the Giants. The games are scheduled for October 29.
