For many students, life after high school brings new beginnings and big decisions. Whether it’s college, a career, or figuring it out along the way, everyone’s path looks different. A few of Lowry’s 2024 graduates have already started building lives they’re proud of.

Katlyn Esquibel and Angel Lopez, a couple since high school, took a leap and moved to Elko together after graduation. They’ve made their own home, and both are pursuing their dreams. Angel is attending Great Basin College to further his education, while Kaitlyn is chasing her passion by starting her own small business.

Melene Nye has been balancing a busy schedule since graduation. She’s been taking online college classes while also working and pursuing a real estate career.

“Since high school, I have been taking online college classes as well as working and pursuing a real estate career,” said Nye.

Despite her packed routine, she still finds time to enjoy herself.

“I have also been traveling and taking advantage of my free time,” said Nye.

David Walker took his talents to North Dakota, where he’s now a full-time student-athlete at the University of Jamestown.

“Football is officially Division 2 now, and the pressure has never been more exciting,” said Walker.
After completing his first year of classes, he recently made the decision to switch his major from nursing to engineering.

“Football has been tons of fun and the University is an amazing place,” said Walker.

Whether it’s school, work, or something in between, these former Lowry students are making the most of their lives after high school, each in their own way.
