A Lowry student was recognized for using proper grammar while writing.
It has become such a struggle switching between texting your bffs and typing an essay for your English class. However, local student Anthony Miller recently received an award for his precise grammar and diction.
“It’s really not that hard to type out ‘you’ instead of ‘u’. I don’t even do that while I am texting,” said Miller. “I really shouldn’t be receiving this award, it’s kind of ridiculous.”
The English department was astounded.
“It was amazing, he spelled out all of his words and used correct punctuation. He even correctly used a semi-colon!” said his English teacher.
His prize includes a $500 Visa gift card and an all expense-paid trip the the Bahamas.
While accepting his award Miller commented, “Really though, why am I getting this?”
He plans on donating his prize money back to the school for new dictionaries, and selling his tickets to the Bahamas to buy a new Xbox One, and some “sick shades”.
