Over the weekend, the swim team went to Galena and did nothing but show great improvement in its times. The team posted 21 regional qualifying times and 21 season best times.
Placing 9th overall, junior Liam Walls put up regional times in each of his events, the 100-backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, and 50-freestyle.
“This weekend was probably my best personal performance at a meet, and the team did very well overall.” Walls also said, “I think that the rest of the season will bring even more improvement for everyone, and hopefully we’ll have a good-sized state team.”
David Anderson, another junior, swims the 50 and 100-freestyle and the 100-backstroke.
“The team did very well, several people made zone in not just one, but in some of their other events and everyone cut time off of their events,” he said.
Anderson agreed with Walls saying that he expects to have a large team going to zone and hopefully a large team for state.
The next swim meet will be this Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m. at Incline.
