On September 18, the Lowry varsity football team comeback came up a little short against the Wooster Colts. Although the Bucks didn’t come up with a win, they did improve from the two previous contests.
Coach Cabatbat’s viewpoint on the game was, “We struggled in the first half; in the second half we need some adjustments. It was a little better. We still need a lot of work.”
Cabatbat stated for future games, “We just need to put a full game together, cut down the mistakes.”
During the first quarter, Wooster scored 14-0. Lowry did improve during the final quarter, outscoring the Colts 14-6.
Team captain Mikeas Somers thought the team finished well.
“We came back at the end, but we started out bad. We need to keep our heads up,” said Somers.
Somers said he could benefit the team by working harder and leading the team more.
Linebacker Michael Rangel had an optimistic opinion of the game.
Rangel observed, “It didn’t go too bad, but we’ve got a lot of things to work on. We got to step up and find a lot of guys who want to play.” Self-improvements Rangel said he could make, “Get stronger mentally and physically. Just read the plays better, and pick up teammates when they’re down. Just countless of things [sic].”
Their next game will be at South Tahoe on Friday, September 25 at 7 p.m.
